RNCA July 12th MEETING NOTES

bullet Councilman David Rivera  Informed the attendees that both Commissioner of Public Works, Stephen Stepniak, and Peter Merlo will attend the next RNCA meeting scheduled for Monday, September 13.
bullet

Peter Merlo  (in e-mails from 7/9/10 to Anthony Caldiero) informed us that they are still waiting for an update from Mike Zera on the sidewalk issue. He also informed us that Joe Poltorak senior Engineer DPW, needs to perform a lighting analysis and has been working with a new software package that will show the best way to improve lighting on Richmond.

bullet

Tom Halloran Commented that trees need to be trimmed, especially the sucker branches. Mr Rivera will bring the matter to the city forester. Tom discussed the 7/24-7/25 Garden Walk.

bullet

Seventy garden bloggers from across the country arrived early in the week. The city has received tremendous positive national exposure in magazines, etc.

bullet

Ms. Persico Handed out a flyer from the city which outlines the correct way to mulch trees, avoiding the volcano mulching which will damage the tree.

bullet

Mike Blawat raised concerns about bikers riding the wrong way down the bike path and not paying attention to the rules of the road. Anthony Caldiero will contact Justin Booth, to see if he has any suggestions.

ISSUES:

bullet

Livery Stable Mr. Rivera thought the money for the project was tied up in the state budget. The steeple is now showing structural damage.
